A more or less extensively creeping perennial, Avith short leaA^es and upright dowering stems, 6 to 18 inches high. The panicles are narrow and few flowered, and in the prostrate forms usually ^lartly included Avithin the leaf sheaths. This grass is a native of Avestern Texas, and doubtless possesses sonu; agricultural value for the drier regions of the Southwest. The creei>ing stems resemble someAvhat those of Bermuda-grass, but the leaves are usually more crowded and broader in proportion to their length..
