Brendan Rodgers 'would take Arsenal job in a heart beat' according to beIN SPORTS pundit

Brendan Rodgers has been strongly linked with becoming the next Arsenal manager following Unai Emery's dismissal, and one pundit says the Leicester City boss would jump at the chance

Brendan Rodgers would take the Arsenal job "in a heart beat" according to beIN SPORTS pundit Richard Keys.

The Leicester City manager has been strongly linked with the vacant manager's post at the Emirates Stadium following Unai Emery's sacking.

Freddie Ljungberg is the interim head coach, but the Gunners are conducting a thorough search for their next manager, with Rodgers believed to be among the names under consideration.

Keys said that following Rodgers' exit as Liverpool manager, he made it clear to the former Sky host that he would jump at the chance to be manager of Arsenal.

Keys also added that Rodgers would be prepared to make the difficult choice of leaving Leicester at this stage given his exti from Celtic to join the Premier League club.

"I've maintained for a long time that there isn't much wrong at the Emirates," Keys wrote on his blog. "I still believe that.

"They really aren't far off, but is Freddie the man to get them going again? If there weren't two other obvious options I'd say yes - but would you take him over Mikel Arteta or Brendan Rodgers? No, you wouldn't.

"Arteta would be more of a gamble than Rodgers, who did nothing in his interview with Geoff Shreeves to deter Arsenal from making an approach. In fact, he did quiet the opposite. He'd take the job in heart beat - and now if he had to. And he'd be right as well.
