Nikon Z5 mirrorless camera rumored specifications

Not the actual Nikon Z5 but I expect the new camera to have a very similar design

First, I have to correct my previous Nikon Z5 post – I reported that the Z5 will not have a top electronic viewfinder. The translation I got was actually wrong – the Nikon Z5 will not have an electronic display on the top panel and will indeed have an electronic viewfinder on the top panel (similar to the Nikon Z50 design). Here are the latest Nikon Z5 rumored specifications collected from several different sources (that means some of the details could be wrong):

  • The Z5 will have the same EVF as the Z6
  • No top panel LCD
  • Dual SD UHS-II memory card slots
  • 24MP full-frame sensor (not sure BSI or not)
  • IBIS
  • Magnesium alloy camera body
  • 1m dots LCD screen resolution
  • New battery: Nikon EN-EL15c (already registered online)
  • USB-C camera powering, not just charging
  • Same AF system as in the Z6
  • 1.7x video crop in 4k, no SloMo option
  • 6fps burst
  • Official announcement expected in the second half of July (I have conflicting reports on the exact date)
  • The camera will start shipping later this year
