Penstemon cyananthus
WASATCH PENSTEMON

Rich vivid blue trumpets, closely packed on spires, make Penstemon cyananthus a treasure for all who love blue flowers.

A colour to make your heart sing & the bees buzz

The Wasatch Penstemon is prolific blooming in spring & summer.
With an intensity of colour that makes this gardener’s heart sing, as well as the bees buzz with joy.
And it is equally as lovely when cut for a vase as the strong stems make it a good floristry flower.

Lovely as a front border or in a pot

Penstemon cyananthus is excellent for planting along the front edge of a border.
Because it is always neat, whether in or out of flower, and of course the bloom colour is striking enough to take centre stage.
It is perfect for planting in front of or under roses, and it enjoys the same conditions.

Water-wise & drought resistant

Plant Penstemon cyananthus in Sun to Part-Shade.
Where you will find it a water-wise & drought resistant plant once it is established.
It is also very frost hardy, and relishes well drained soil.

Evergreen perennial clump.
30cm High flower stems x 30cm Wide evergreen foliage clump that sits low to the ground.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:

Sow seeds of Penstemon cyananthus indoors at any time / or outdoors in autumn.

INDOORS: Sow seeds in punnets on surface of good quality seed raising mix.

Press gently. Barely cover with fine mix/grit/sand.

Seeds need chilling to break dormancy.
So wrap moist punnet in cling wrap & place in fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks. Unwrap & place in a well-lit position at 15-20°C. Seeds need light to germinate. Keep moist. Seedlings emerge in approx. 18-21 days.

SEED COUNT: 5o seeds per pack approx.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
