UPDATE - I still love this keyboard. But today I noticed that the symbols on two keys (brackets and braces) were printed upside down. When you switch them to be right side up they look ridiculous. I use brackets for encryption a lot. I'll either swap them out or try not to look at the keys too close. If you're a perfectionist it's really annoying. See picture 3 after I turned them the correct way.First of all, I'm not a gamer. A little nerdy though. I do digital forensics so I'm always on the computer. I don't always like turning on the overhead office light since it's super bright but I couldn't see my crappy dell keyboard. Floor lamps can't be conveniently placed and a desk lamp gets in the way of my mega monitor.Enter this keyboard. I tried and rejected many. I HATE loud keyboards. The red silent switches are an absolute dream. I didn't think silent and mechanical could go together so beautifully.I took one photo of it straight from the box and one after switching out the caps with tiny print to pudding key caps. Switching the caps was pretty easy though these keys are a little close so be careful. The good:-Not blindingly bright which is my preference.-Silent but tactile. Ah it's so beautiful to my ears.-The texture of the keys is like a gaming console. It may wear badly over time but for now it's satisfying.-The cord is a decent length.-I didn't have to download software. It worked out of the box and you can change colors easily. The less good but not deal breakers:-The board is angled really high even with the feet down. A wrist rest is a must otherwise you'll be in serious pain.-Ultra fine print characters on some keys combined with the dim lights on highest setting would be frustrating. I'm not middle aged and my eye sight is 20/15.-The key profile is a little high too. I'll get used to it but if this is your first mechanical it's surprising and will slow your typing speed.Overall I'm satisfied and it exceeded my expectations. I'm so happy I went with this as opposed to $200.00+ keyboards I was looking at. I like this even more.I hope it holds up over time. I'll be absolutely gutted if it gets glitchy or breaks.

This keyboard is awesome. I don’t know much about keyboards, so I did some research on Cherry before I bought it. The noise is perfect for me - not too loud, but not quiet either. It’s got the clicky sound I like to hear when typing for work, and I type all day. I love the color effect too, it’s fun to watch and makes my desk less boring.

I don’t use this for gaming at all, but it’s a very high quality keyboard. I type for the majority of my work day and this keyboard always keeps up. It’s the perfect size for me, keys are a great height, and it’s customizable. My long nails don’t even bother the keys, it’s wonderful. Would recommend this brand to anyone in the market for a quality keyboard!

I love the mechanical feel and sound! It reminds me of the keyboard that came with my childhood Tandy 1000TL computer. The tactile feedback is very satisfying. Of course this type of keyboard might not be appropriate for a crowded office or for typing while on a voice call.

I bought this hoping that the Cherry MX Black switches would be similar to my old Logitech membrane KB, but they're much to easy to push.
I was preparing to just adjust when I noticed all of the typing errors I was making because the Insert/Home/Page Up rows, Arrow keys, and number pad are all very close to the alphabetic keys.

I suppose if you're willing to adjust, go for it, but if your fingers like wider spacing, this isn't the KB for you.

As an avid keyboard collector, I have experience with a lot of different keyboards, and I am referring mostly to typing, not gaming here. I previously purchased a 3.0 version of this board here on Amazon, with the aluminum frame, and I absolutely ADORE the way that keyboard types. It is downright addictive. And, I'm not sure exactly why, it's the sound, the feel, the overall build. I am a MX Blue key switch person, so that might not be the same result with your choice.

So, I got the idea, let's give the plastic frame, earlier model a try! Absolutely floored with the way this board types, it might be better still (the sound from the plastic frame?) than the 3.0. I don't know. All I do know, is that I enjoy tying on this (and the 3.0) more than almost any board I have, and I have a few that cost way more than this one does.

Highly recommended, if you love typing, and love Cherry MX Blue switches, you'll be in love!

Was soll der Schmarrn?

Was soll der Schmarrn?

Color: White - MX Silent Red SwitchVerified Purchase
I was skeptical at first when I saw review videos. What I really needed was a mechanical keyboard that was a quiet as possible, and this Silent Red one is just perfect for the job. Not only are the keys quiet, but they feel very comfortable to type in, whether it be for gaming or work. I do plan on buying another one as backup.

We bought the keyboard for the sleek white chassis and the sound of the Cherry MX Blue switches. The keyboard works amazingly, the Cherry software was simple to install and was not obnoxious or bloated.

Very satisfied with this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend this keyboard to anyone!

Note: the white keys scuff VERY easily if using a black keycap removal tool. This is not a knock against the keyboard or quality of the keycaps, simply a warning against making the same mistake as I did.
