This is a golden mask belonging to the Princess of the Chen State from China's Liao Dynasty (907 - 1125 C.E.). It is in bas-relief and 0.05 cm thick, made by hammering a gold foil. There are 33 pores lined up one after another. The mask was made in line of the contours of the princess' face. It appears to cover a round face. Under this cold mask, one wonders what a lovely face it portrays.
