Sophisticated elegance! We (my husband and I) stayed in the Club Millesime level and chose the Prestige Suite with a view of the Angel of Independence. What service we received from the entire team: Natalia, Linette, Laura, Frida, Natalie, Armando and Jany. We were always greeted by our last name and were always asked if we needed anything. The team was also our personal concierge accommodating any of our needs. The city was pretty hot and smoggy so we spent a lot of time in the hotel when we didn't venture out. The food in the Club is so good and the drinks come out at 12 noon with wonderful French wines, beers and even cocktails are made by the team. Can I say the pastries in the morning are beyond delicious? I recommend using the drivers that the hotel sets up for you as they are very clean, new and professional drivers which make you feel safe out in all that traffic. At the end of our stay, the team even gave us a beautiful gift! What a treat! The location is also ideal for this hotel and I really felt that the $800 a night rate was well worth it- book through Amex Plat Travel as you also get late check out and breakfast if you want to go to the restaurant. The spa and pool are also nice. The gym is a little small but it works and is very clean. Housekeeping does a great job too. I give this hotel and their Club team five stars!!

My stay at the Sofitel was great! Pedro was very friendly, accommodating and helped me with my bags when I arrived and left. There’s an amazing rooftop bar with beautiful views of the city and a salt water pool. It’s also walking distance to super tasty food. Would highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of with smiles, proactive understandings of what we might need at any given moment, and all staff uniformly treating us like we were guests in their homes. A special call out to Claudia and Amanda at the front desk, and Natalia and Nathalie with the club, and so many other hotel workers who made our 5 night stay one of our best hotel experiences ever. The hotel provided us many pleasant surprises including an ice cream sundae pop up in the lobby, a bell staffer who carried our luggage to an alternate Uber pick up location due to road closures, and a pool long enough to do laps and with a mirrored ceiling so I could observe and improve my backstroke technique! Since this was a special trip for a birthday, we booked a prestige suite which gave us access to the Club Millésimé. The food and drinks in the club were sooooooo good! Having access for breakfast, late afternoon goûters, and evening nightcaps made the room costs an even greater value. Mexico City had high air pollution while we were there, so we spent more time indoors than planned, and what a great place to do so. We made good use of the pool, the fitness center — small but with enough equipment for me to do most of my exercises — the club, and the many restaurants and lounges. When we come back to Mexico City, we know where we will be staying! I can’t wait.

I stayed here for 4 nights as I was attending a wedding later that week. Previously, I had stayed in Condesa and decided to try the Sofitel because of its great reviews. Some taxis/ubers are a little confused about the entrance because it's off the street, but once you go in, you have to go in an elevator to get to reception. Check in was easy and they brought us a local chocolate welcome drink. The room was very nice and large, but I do wish it had better seating. The sort of chaise lounge thing in front of the window wasn't very comfortable as it was not possible to lean back. The daily breakfast was definitely the highlight of our stay. The house made pastry selection is incredible and changes on a daily basis. Our waitstaff were great. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was the spa and honestly that was kind of a disaster. I love luxury spa vacations and this just wasn't it. The pre-treatment experience consists of a small room with two showers (one of which wasn't working) and a tiny hot tub next to a tiny cold plunge. It was really awkward when you were there with another guest. There is a pool and sauna, but they are on another floor and are open to all guests. My treatment started quite late and ended right on time, which considering the prices was not good. However, the worst was that I booked my mom a facial and she came back with burns under her eyes. If a product is that caustic, it should be patch tested first. I understand anything can irritate the skin, but they didn't seem to care at all or offer any aftercare instructions. The other issue was staff were constantly asking for 5* reviews on Trip Advisor mentioning their names because they get extra time off. I love to recognize people who give great service, but it got very tiring having people constantly begging and handing you trip advisor cards with their names, especially the spa staff that clearly provided poor service. Overall, it just did not feel like a 5* hotel. The wedding I was attending was at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, which is only 4* and honestly, I wish I had just stayed there for the entire trip. The service was a much higher level. I will choose somewhere else for my next trip to CDMX.

Natalie at the Club lounge is the best! She is so nice and very attentive. She served us for 3 days at the lounge and was always very polite and quick service. The breakfast is also amazing, it is one the best I’ve had in my travels. I will definitely be back to stay and visit.
